The gaming industry relies on strong leaders to coordinate the teams of artists, designers, and programmers working to create that level of immersion. Our Diploma is designed to prepare students to take on those leadership roles, and oversee the next generation of innovation in the field of video games.
The Modeling specialization develops 2D skills in modeling. It allows the student to focus on strong conceptual visual skills, hands-on model building, digitizing, texture mapping, and other skills necessary for model data set creation. These models find applications in movies, commercials, simulators and emulators, games, animation sequences, product design, and product development.
This course is a complete overview of 2D game designing & development. It is designed for beginning programmers and focuses on fundamentals and low skill set solutions. Focuses include scripting languages with emphasis on game concepts and Animation and exploration of the use of graphics and sound to create interactive multimedia applications and/or animations using industry standard authoring software.
Students will develop both 2-dimensional artistic abilities by learning concept art, sprite and pixel art, modelling, texturing, animation and level design. Taught by faculty with industry experience and mentored by local game industry leaders, students will develop games for commercial, educational and serious purposes.
Students will have the unique opportunity to develop commercial quality games in a simulated video game studio environment, at times developed with industry partners and game programmers.
